Urban Mobility
Advocacy, civic tech, and self-directed work in transit and urban systems.
Building and Writing
I built and maintain Urbanist Atlas, an open directory of transit and safe-streets advocacy organizations across the US and Canada, searchable by postal code — code, data, and documentation all under open licenses.
I write The Urbanist Lexicon, a publication on transport systems, infrastructure, and the move from software engineering into urban mobility.
Civic Technology
Living in Chicago, I got involved with ChiHackNight, a weekly civic-tech meetup focused on open-data projects. I built tools using transit APIs and GTFS feeds, which gave me a closer look at how institutional decisions shape the data transit agencies publish.
Advocacy
Involved in transit and active transportation advocacy through the Rail Passengers Association, Riders Alliance (New York), and Transportation Alternatives.
Research Interests
Transit-oriented development — how land use, housing, and mobility connect, and what makes it actually work in practice. Climate adaptation in urban transport, and how policy can drive system-wide resilience rather than piecemeal fixes.
